A closer look at the route
The Azzaden Valley is one of the hidden jewels of the High Atlas — a place most visitors never see, because no road reaches it, only mule paths and mountain trails. This two-day trek from Imlil takes you through walnut and apple orchards, past traditional Berber houses built from local stone, and into a valley that still moves at the pace it always has.
Ideal for a first trekking experience, a family outing, or a short escape from Marrakech's heat and noise. You'll overnight in a comfortable Berber gîte in the heart of the valley, with 4–5 hours of walking per day and a warm welcome waiting at both ends.
Imlil → Azzaden Valley
Depart from Imlil (1,740m). Trek through walnut groves and orchards up into the Azzaden Valley, passing traditional Berber hamlets. Arrive at the valley gîte for dinner and overnight.
Azzaden → Imlil
Morning walk deeper into the valley with views towards the Toubkal massif, then return to Imlil by a different path through the landscape. Transfer back to Marrakech.
